Enid Blyton
Enid Blyton is one of the UK's most well-known and well-loved authors and wrote an astonishing 600 books. Blyton was born in South London on August 11, 1897 and had her first book published
at the age of 25. Eight million books bearing the famous Enid Blyton signature are sold globally every year in more than 40 languages. Blyton is most famously known for her series books, the Famous Five, the Secret Seven, the Adventure series, the Mystery series, the Barney Junior Mystery and her school books (St Clare Books, Mallory towers books) as well as the Noddy series.
Things have not always been rosy for Enid Blyton. Over the years many of Blyton's books have received literary criticism due to the fact that many of Blyton's books were viewed as sexist and outdated. Because of the criticism surrounding many of her books, book sellers had a difficult time selling Blyton's books to collectors. However, this situation has dramatically changed and first edition copies of Blyton's books have risen in price and are becoming increasingly difficult to find. Abebooks has a large selection of Blyton's books including first editions; get your copy here.
